    36 pickup starter switch mounting

My frame is missing the mounting holes for the foot actuated starter switch. I can see in the metal toe board where it needs to mount, but if I’m off by a little bit the switch probably won’t line up with the floorboard hole. Can someone give me dimensions of where I should drill the holes...

    36 pickup grille repair question

My grill has some missing and bent bars. I noticed Mac's has grille bars listed for '32 and says it requires 48 of them. Are these a good starting point for fixing my 36 pickup grille? If not, any other suggestions are appreciated.

    Good experience with an order

Placed an order with MAC's on Wednesday, didn't pay for the rush shipping, and got my order today Monday. Only ordered 5 items, and was pleased to see 4 out of the 5 are Made in USA. The one made overseas was the radiator cap repair kit.

    Coil resistor

I'm not ready to wire up my whole truck at this point but I DO want to test-fire my engine. I took the resistor off the inner firewall and it looks pretty crusty. I checked across the terminals and I get zero continuity and no reading for resistance. Am I correct in assuming this resistor is...

    improving conductivity of starter

Before I mount my starter I was wondering if there is a recommended product that will enhance the conductivity between the starter and the bellhousing. I have the starter face squeeky clean as well as the mounting ring of the bellhousing. Dielectric grease would help keep out moisture and dirt...

Barners in Georgia willing to pick up a part?

Any barners near Gainsville, Georgia that might be willing to pickup a bench seat for me and assist in getting it to Chicago? Mileage and handling fee is okay. Its on Ebay and the seller refuses to budge on his 'local pickup only' rule. I asked if he could take it to Greyhound and he said...

    Tube inside fuel pump stand

1940, 85hp, 24 stud v8 Switching from iron intake to aluminum, I have the correct short pushrod taken from my other engine. The other engine does not have the fat tube inside the block. The engine with the iron intake had it. Does this get used with an aluminum intake? The Green Bible...

    another fuel pump pushrod question..

Step 1) did a 'search' and read 2 pages of threads about fuel pump pushrods. Step 2) still didn't find the answer I was looking for Step 3) It seemed like there was a oil soaked felt washer under the umbrella part of my pushrod on the '40 v8 I'm working on. It doesn't show in the Green Bible...

Any tricks to fitting a 1938 motor mount?

I put the engine and trans on my chassis today but I'm not pleased with the way the motor mount assembly goes together. I've got the washer registered into the hole in the frame, then the rubber biscuit on top of the washer with the pointed end up. Problem is the umbrella end that sits down...

    Torque Tube & Driveshaft questions - 1938

Working on a 1938 car chassis. The torque tube didn't appear to have a center bearing#4658 and the roller bearing at the front just rides in the torque tube, not inside the insert #4655. Is this abnormal? The bearing fits nice and snug with no slop. And to install the #4245 seal, is it...
