Tube inside fuel pump stand

Switching from iron intake to aluminum,

I have the correct short pushrod taken from my other engine. The other engine does not have the fat tube inside the block.
The engine with the iron intake had it.

Does this get used with an aluminum intake? The Green Bible didn't provide an answer.

Not a 34 block or a 34 intake, only on 35 up motors with stock alum. intakes. The later CI intakes use a longer tube. ken ct. Gasket goes on manifold first then drop in the fat tube the short one.Not the one from the CI intake.

As already mentioned this wasn't used until blocks were vented {1935} & it is indeed supposed to be there . It is part of the venting system - NOT an oil baffle . I believe they shorten easier than they lengthen . It needs to fit down into the socket in the block casting around the fuel pump bushing .

David J is correct. if your engine is a 35 up with the breather vent in the right front of the oil pan and a breather tube under the front of the intake and 35 up intake with a round hole for the fuel pump stand, you will need that beather tube. If it's to long for your intake, cut one inch off the bottom. Walt
