    1941 Ford Pickup Truck

1941 Ford Pickup Truck, Chevy 350 motor with Turbo 350 automatic trans. All steel truck, no fiberglass. The idea was to have the truck look as original as possible inside and out but still have modern parts. Dash even has all original knobs and ignition switch(non functional), but a modern...

Not sure if anyone else saw this so I thought I'd post it. Not quite correct, but funny anyway.

    I Need A Book Recommendation

Is there a good restoration and information guide for 1948-1956, or possibly 1948-1050?

    40-47 Forward Cab Mount Installation???

I've attached a picture from Drake's catalog so the part I'm asking about is clear. I'm pretty sure the drawing is wrong since the wood would have to be under the mount. I bought a 41 truck and this part appears to be missing. I bought 2 repros, but I'm not clear exactly how they should go...

    Jewel/High Beam Lamp mounting

The Drake item works. I bought one and tried it on my truck. If you slide it over the jewel, then towards the top of the dash, the curve of the dash tightens the metal strap in place. It may not be correct as an original, but it does work.

    Front Leaf Spring 1941 Pickup

I'm not sure how many leaves should be in my 1941 pickup front spring. I have 10, but the Green Bible leads me to believe I should have 11. It looks like the 1940 had 10. Would it make much difference?

    Front Spring To Crossmember Pad?

Thanks very much. My Model A didn't have one one, and whether they also had them originally is incidental now since the 1941 is my only older truck.

    Front Spring To Crossmember Pad?

Front Spring To Crossmember Pad? Was there any such thing in 1941? I removed my front spring, and when I went to replace it I realized there was a piece of padding stuck to the underside of the crossmember. I've had some earlier cars and never remember seeing such a thing. Possibly a...

    1941 truck front crossmember

The author of "Two Great Trucks" is the knowledgeable person I was talking about. He certainly knows the trucks, and is a very nice person to talk to.

    1941 truck front crossmember

Did some further investigation with one of the most knowledgeable 40-41 truck guys in the country. There is apparently truth to the parts book listing. At some point in 1941 ALL production switched to the 6 cylinder style crossmember. In addition, the 6 cylinder style hood was also used from...

    Jewel/High Beam Lamp mounting

I just bought a repro Jewel/High Beam Lamp for my 41 truck (I had an empty dash hole). I have no idea how it's mounted or illuminated since none of that came with it. Can someone enlighten me?

    1941 truck front crossmember

I have a pickup with a V8 serial number, but someone over the last 75 years has bolted in a 6 cylinder front crossmember. The 6 crossmember obviously has a low dip in the middle to accommodate the 6. How does this affect my front suspension since I'm putting a V8 back in? I've been told that...

    1941 truck headlight switch

I bought it. Thanks very much!

    1941 truck headlight switch

I recently bought a 1941 headlight switch from Dennis Carpenter and I find it impossible to install. The switch body is so large that it interferes with the cowl vent brace. In addition, the nut is so small that it goes through the hole in the dash. Does anyone have a picture of what this...

    1938 pickup frame vs 1941

Earlier today I asked a question about what a correct serial number should look like, and I received a prompt answer. Problem is the numbers don't match my title. There was another number stamped on the frame that does match (no stars), and I assumed that to be correct before I started...

    1941 Serial number question

My serial number starts with 18-, but the remaining numbers are larger (1/4"). It's a pickup and I checked the number over the rear axle and it's also larger, but here isn't any 18-. Both numbers begin and end with a star. Is this correct?

    1941 truck cowl lacing

I just received a piece of repro cowl lacing for my 1941 pickup. It's 44 inches long. Unfortunately that's 4 inches shorter than the piece I took off. The place I got it from has a 1940 pickup and they measured theirs and it's 44 inches. Either someone drilled extra holes and put a longer...

    Book

I did join the club and appreciate the info. Dave Collette is in the Pittsburgh region so he's not too close by. There's always email of course. I have had an email conversation with a Maryland owner that's been very helpful, and as you may have noticed above, Sunshine has also offered help...

    Book

I'm really sorry, I missed that book when I was looking at their page. I already have it, and it is very good, but I was looking for something more comprehensive. I bought a truck that was partially stripped and taken apart, consequently I don't know where or how a lot of stuff goes.
