Book

Yes, the V8 club has a small paperback book with some good information in it for sale. Check out their web page for details.

I'm really sorry, I missed that book when I was looking at their page. I already have it, and it is very good, but I was looking for something more comprehensive. I bought a truck that was partially stripped and taken apart, consequently I don't know where or how a lot of stuff goes.

No apologizes needed. I too wish that book had a little more details. Kube has a lot of info on these pickups and I believe he may be compiling research for an actual restoration guidelines book.

I have a complete un-restored original '41 pickup at my disposal. If you need photos or information I'd be glad to help.

If you're interested send me an email, swobodaseth@hotmail.com or a PM and I will get you my cell phone number. I have helped Kube, I'd help anyone with what I can.

I have owned 3 40/41 1/2 ton pick ups and currently have a 41 3/4 ton stake truck with the same cab. I also have a few pictures. the mac hills book on pickups is also informative as is the big book on ford trucks from 1903 to 1974 is good

forgot to mention--give us a location in your profile--maybe some one close by who knows these trucks and could help you.

falkengeist there is a restored 41 plckup in our early v8 club local 36 on Md.it was restored by our club president ?lf you contact him he would give you some help. Or point you in that direction .Sunshine.

Hi Everyone. falkengeist, Welcome to the FordBarn Forums.

As sunshine said, we have a pretty good crowd at the EFV-8 local club meetings, lots of very helpful people.

Meetings are third Tuesday of the month at the church in Sunshine, intersection of MD 97 & 650 (talk at 7, meeting 7:30 to about 8:45ish), just about an hour from Parkton. You should try to make a meeting, where you can talk about your truck and get pointers. We have a site at www.ncr36.com

I used to live in Stewartstown, and my dad lived in Hereford on Monkton Rd where we did all the work on our '36 Phaeton, so I used to know the 'HZ' area pretty well.

I'm in Parkton, MD, north of Baltimore close to the PA line.
If you are a V-8 Club member look up Dave Collette in Pennsylvania in your roster. He put together a 41 pickup and knows them part by part. If you are not a member join the club and get involved in a regional group. you would be amazed at the amount of knowledge out there to help you with your project. I have a 41 pickup, but I'm out here on the left coast.

I did join the club and appreciate the info. Dave Collette is in the Pittsburgh region so he's not too close by. There's always email of course. I have had an email conversation with a Maryland owner that's been very helpful, and as you may have noticed above, Sunshine has also offered help. Great group of guys!
