Earlier today I asked a question about what a correct serial number should look like, and I received a prompt answer. Problem is the numbers don't match my title. There was another number stamped on the frame that does match (no stars), and I assumed that to be correct before I started educating myself. To add to the dilemma, according to the VanPelt site my real frame number, stars and all, is from a 1938. Since I have a 1941, and God only knows what has transpired in 75 years, I'm stuck with what I have.
The cab, fenders, hood, hydraulic brakes etc. are 1941. Even the front crossmember is 1941 since it's originally from a 6 cylinder, even though both numbers that I have are V8. The crossmember has been bolted in place so I know it's been changed. My question is is there much, if any, difference between a 1938 pickup frame and a 1941 pickup frame?
