A friend of mine just purchased a 1931 CCPU that has no # on the engine block. I did a search here and didn't come up with much information.
Has anyone ever seen an unstamped block? Were they replacement blocks from the factory?
Any input is appreciated.
Was there ever a factory split windshield on a model A? I'm looking at pictures of what the owner claims to be factory split. It dont really make sense on a flat windshield.
I am installing new belt rail wood on my 29 sport coupe. Does it bolt directly to the car or should there be some kind of seal used between the wood and metal first?
Like that "Dum-Dum" stuff I read about here a few days ago or maybe a frame rail type of seal?
I have a beautiful set of 29 fenders that someone cut wheel wells into. They just wont work on my 29 Sport Coupe as I cant open the door enough to get in if I use them.
Does any one have some junk fenders that might have enough metal left to make patch panels to fill the wells in my fenders...
I have a 1929 sport coupe that I'm working on. Tonight I have a sandblaster coming over to look at the body to clean it up for patch panels and painting.
The bottom of the body is where it is going to be patched in the usual places.
The rest of the body just needs to have old paint stripped...
I am building a 1929 Sport Coupe. This basket case came with front fenders with the wheel wells in them. I installed the fenders, aprons, and running boards on the car last weekend. This weekend we put the body on the car to check fit everything. I put one of the doors on the body and a wheel in...
Looking for seat frame patterns or dimensions for both front and rumble seat frames on my 29 sport coupe. Thanks
This would be the frames the springs sit on. [I have the springs]
I finally got my chassis finished and want to start assembely on the body parts. I want to install the front fenders, splash aprons, hood shelfs, and running boards. I plan on laying some frame welting down on the frame first.
My question is, What should I bolt up first?
It might become...
I have a 1989 crew cab pickup 4WD F-350 with a new 7.3L diesel motor that I would like to trade for a model A PU. I no longer have use for the crew cab as the kids are grown. I put a fully dressed crate motor in it about 20k miles ago and can show documentation. Any modelA would be concidered...
I have a 29 sport coupe that I purchased from the AACA museum in Hershey last year. This car was completely apart with some new parts in boxes.
The top kit that came with it was purchased in 1970. It still contains the receipt from the original purchaser.
I called LeBaron Bonney and told them...
I'm a little embarrassed:o to ask but, what exactly is a "BANGER" motor?
I was under the impression that it was a modified motor but I have seen stock, junk, rusted, rebuilt, and modified hot rod motors listed as BANGER motors.
I got these shocks with my first A. They are obviously not ford.
They are Universal Dampers LTD. Made in England:confused:
Model A2.
My questions are,
Are they hydraulic filled? If so, where do they get filled?
How do the arms stay on? Is the press fit going to be enough to hold them on? As...
I need a new fan belt for a model A. I tried to get one at the Mecungie meet this weekend but no one had it. I can get one from Napa but it is cogged. He can get me one that is not cogged also.
Any thoughts on witch would be better?
I wired my engine last night with a temporary firewall to test my new engine. The body is off the frame. When ignition switch is in off position I still have power to coil. Is this normal? Will it fry my coil? I have not got the motor running or timed it yet. I plan on doing that tonight if all...
I just got my battery tray and stud mounting kit from Snyders. This is going into a car that doesn't have one yet and I want to install it correctly but have no instructions. Can any one send me some pictures of the setup? Thanks.
I'm building a car that I purchased with the body already off. The frame was painted but I sanded the paint off on the left side top of the frame where everyone says the # is. There is no serial number or even a hint of any markings on that top rail. I would consider the frame to be in excellant...
I have a friend who just got a 1930 coupe. He wants to replace the clutch in it and asked if he should drop the rear or pull the motor. I've never done one so I cant advise him. What is the easiest way?
I am putting together my first model a and have two speedometers to work with. Both are well used and I am trying to free them up. I have opened them and sprayed WD-40 in all possible places. The one in the best condition spins when I put a square head bit in the cable drive but with still some...
