I told him I thought it was in the kit by accident.
Can anyone identify this?

That is the mounting block for the dome lamp. Deluxe coupes had a dome lamp. That block goes between two of the bows and is held in by screws through the bows into the block. The open end is where the wire goes , through a hole in the bow. If you are not installing a dome lamp, just delete the block.

It is part no. A-13779-W, dome light wood block for the overhead dome light which came with the Deluxe Coupe Models, which also had factory installed cowl lights.
