Guess the 28-29 cars and trucks are a rairity.
So from what I gather here...All the FORD bodies had the "square" nuts and the Briggs and Murray bodies had the "hex" nut assemblies?
Thanks to all who contrubuted to this post.

PLUCK...I went to Marco for the answer as we were not getting what we needed and as stated above by Marco that is correct. The 29 Roadster used SQUARE NUTS...thanks to all that chimed in to help on this topic.....Question completed.![]()
My car is stamped 2-6-29 on firewall. It is a briggs body leatherback.
Bolts and nuts are hex on firewall and gastank support structures internally. I am pretty sure they are original. Bill G
And I agree, found no where at all that it is stated...I think it should be included but that is actually in area 1 engine as fire wall encompasses that area also.
I thought we added it to Area-1 and was very frustrated to discover otherwise. I went back through drafts dating back to 2007 and nothing. I discarded drafts earlier than that so I'll never know if we forgot or it was inadvertently dropped/lost.
One thing I will point out. When you are doing research, writing, and reformatting for clarification, it is MUCH easier to find or spot what's incorrect than it is to discover what's missing!
1929 Station Wagon in the shop that last ran 40 years ago, tank date is 6-28-29 so that is June, 26, 1929 with the Murray tag on the lower right front door area and another original tag with number under the seat, a VERY nice car, has NEX nuts on the firewall to tank, connection. Nex nuts on the inner side clamps. But if you need to ponder something at 3:00 in the morning the bolts under the windsheild have Square nuts. Bob
Regarding the picture posted by Seaslugs, should the nuts for the tank to cowl go to the bottom? The pic below is from a very original 28 untouched right hand drive Roadster still showing it's original paint work. The nuts in question are on the bottom.
Any ideas folks?
