Re: Rare Model A Coupe ?

The more I look at it, the more I like it. I would love to see some interior shots that may show how it was made and with what parts.

Re: Rare Model A Coupe ?

No their this colour. Sort of a Olive green grey. Now the debates will start. I've come across two low mile engines that had this colour on the covered areas that I matched the colour to.

Re: Rare Model A Coupe ? More pics added.

Vanspeed hit the nail on the head with the first post. Slant Fordor cowl, doors married to a 30/31 Coupe rear.
My father had read about Edsels three window and wanted to build his own version.
A gentleman up near Seattle did the work.

Why the blue motor was probably because that was the only rattle can around.

My flash was being temperamental, but it looks like the curved tin above the door was all part of the coupe body.
There is a small section just above the slant part of the door that came from the donor sedan.
The door and post lines look a bit odd because there are no door latches installed.
The door sills are from the coupe body, up to the rear edge of the windshield post.
There was a quite a bit of work done to get the door contour to match the coupe post,
a fair bit of time and twisting was involved.
In the third pic you can see where we need to do a bit more work on the tin above the door,
as the passenger side bulges up a bit more than the drivers side.

Sorry I couldn't pull the car out and get better pics, but you can see it's
all the way back on the right and I'd have to move a bunch of stuff to get better pics.

Anyone need the back half of two slant windshield sedans?
Not sure why there were two involve in the project.

Re: Rare Model A Coupe ? More pics added.

Damn am I good! All joking aside, I love the look of the car, very nice work and I hope to see it on the road. It really does look like a "phantom" car that bridges the gap between Model A and Model B. Also, nice tin collection.

Hello Gents

The Coupe is going to a brother, not sure if he's staying original or not at this point.
The cars in the last photo in the previous post are looking for new owners.

We are keeping 10 or so of the Dad's 40yr collection in the family.
But there is a couple of acres of stuff up for grabs.
I don't charge for tours.

Re: Rare Model A Coupe ? More pics added.

Maybe it is this car?

Is that not the Edsel Coupe? I've not sure I've seen that pic of it before.
The only pics I've seen were in the Restorer and its been some time since looking at those.

I'm getting ready to go to the Portland swap meet in a couple of weeks, and need to get several things out of the shop. Will try and get better interior pics of the body then.

Hi everyone.

Did a massive revamp of the shop today, so was able to roll the coupe outside and get much better pics.

It's hard to tell just where he spliced the door sills.

Re: Rare Model A Coupe ? More pics added.

kool car Doug. Too bad you're on the other side of the world from me. I'd take a "tour". That coupe gig could have gone a couple ways. Simple cowl swap to the existing sub rails, swap rails and cowl/windshield/doors. or a mix. I see a weld at the #1 cross member near the rivets that hold it in. Looks like the rail was swapped out? Just lookin...and diggin it too:cool:

Re: Rare Model A Coupe ? More pics added.

Man I would like to see that in my garage. Your brother is a lucky guy.

Re: Rare Model A Coupe ? More pics added.

I think I see the seat mount hole in the body cross member like is on my Tudor. Is that hole there on other models as well?
