I want to know why ebay bids down to the cents. A bid will go from $5.00 to $7.23. Are people really bidding cents?
And correct me if I am wrong but when PayPal takes their fee they are also taking from the shipping money sent, correct? In other words I have tried to simplify and use flat rate boxes when I can so I know exactly what to charge or at least what to put in listing. So when PayPal takes their cut they are also taking some of actual charges.May seem minute but not over time or to someone with a business.

I don't have an issue with the bidding process, but I do have issues with the number of non Model A parts that appear when I do a search. I've filtered my search every way I can think of and still see too many items that have nothing to do with a Ford Model A. Sure the item can be made to fit someones "Rat Rod" or whatever the acceptable term is now days, but when I'm looking for vintage Model A Ford parts, that's all I care to see.

I am an active bidder and seller on ebay. I don't understand why services like esnipe are needed. If you don't want to bid at the end, then just bid your maximum amount you are willing to pay. Its that easy. A last second bidder can't beat you if you bid a higher amount. It's that easy.
There are ALOT of bidders that don't understand how the bidding works and those that don't like to be beat by a dollar, it is against these people that sniping works not those like you and I that place a bid for the max we are willing to spend (the amount in our wallet as in my example above). They bid for what they want to pay not what they are willing to pay, if you understand what I mean. They say wow I would like to pay 25.00 but they are beat out by a previous bid so the raise their bid and so on. One only has to just look at a finished auction and see how many times the same bidder but in a bid.
Maybe I shouldn't be educating some of you after all.![]()
I have several e bay watches and notifications e-mails would be sent at 1:58 AM every morning. I do not receive the e-mail notifications of newly listed items until after 10 AM now. Half of the e-mails are blank and no link to newly listed items.
I think e-bay has been attacked.
Have other people been having this kind of trouble?
I see it a little different than that. I figure out what it's worth to me and wait until the last couple of minutes to see where the price is. If it's below what I had in my head for the price I proceed to enter that price and wait until the last minute to enter my bid. That 's what works for me, I didn't pay more than I wanted and in many cases I got the item.
