Ebay Bidding...What the heck here...

One reason why you get so many hits other than the search that you want is due to a newer feature on ebay where the seller lists what car the parts will fit. If you search for Model A Steering Wheel and someone has a spinner that they say fits a model a steering wheel, then you see the spinner.

You can reduce this and refine your search by doing a what I think is called a Boolean Search. In this case you put your search terms in "quotations". That tells the search engine that you want the specific phrase model a steering wheel, otherwise you are actually searching for model and or a and or steering and or wheel.

So you are getting what you are searching for, but as I learned from raising 6 Teenagers, the answer you get is always dependent on the question you ask:D.

So searching this afternoon for model a steering wheel nets you 128 active listings, and only 9 of are steering wheels, if you search instead for "model a steering wheel" you get only 9 listings and all of them are steering wheels, although some are wheels that will "fit" a model a. At least you bring it down from 128 searches with 120 of them being useless to 5 out of 9 viable wheels.

Note that this also works for Google Searches.

Im pissed off about the shipping now. I sold my A engine setup with a no shipping agreement. I had several people contact me about picking it up and thats fine. The guy who won it is 3 states away and needed me to pallet it so it could be shipped. So now it cost me 3 hours of shop time to take care of him. 3 hours @ $65 and hour= $195+tax. So theres almost half the total out of my pocket.

So what you're saying is that eBay doesn't want the average person to easily be able to find what they're looking for?? In that regard they seem to be making progress!!

Actually that is what they have done to make it easy and include all the items that fall into the category your looking for,..how much easier can that be? BUT for the more in depth searching they also have an advanced search area

If you had no shipping agreement, they why can you not charge the customer for freight and crate?

If there is not a shipping agreement I would think one would not be required to put it on a pallet. You did a good thing, and no good things go unpunished.

I think I did a few good things Mike V. I had to spend an hour with the truck driver today because the guy didn't complete the paperwork the way he was supposed to. So I took care of it. I told him I would fill out any paperwork but I'm not paying for a dime of it.
