Sound pretty good, thanks Mitch!
Never ever bid on an item until 5 seconds before it closes. Anything you bid prior to that will be raised by other inexperienced bidders. Get yourself a bidding program like bidnapper, bidmaster, ETC.
PLuck, If someone bids against you then it tells them in a small box window how much they have to enter to outbid your max. It’s kinda confusing.....

I got outbid at the last second on a pickup I really wanted to buy and was the high bidder on for several days. Ever since then I have used this site to do my eBay bidding.

It works great !
As far as the shipping, many times it is inflated to take care of the eBay/PayPal fees which usually ding the seller for 20% of the total sale.
As far as the shipping cost I just had this happen to me as an Ebay seller. I list all my items United States only but lately a lot of foreign buyers are bidding anyway, this time the winning bidder was from the Netherlands, surprising because the item was a very heavy 35-41 Ford flywheel. I had intended the item would go UPS which usually is more at the counter than the estimated or calculated tables Ebay and UPS provide. Lately I add a couple pounds and also dimensions of box and most time still isn't enough for UPS changing prices they always attribute to fuel cost. Unbelievably UPS wanted over $425.00 to ship from Ohio to Netherlands, flywheel weighed 42lbs. I thought it would be to big and heavy for USPS but I took it in anyway, filled out the customs form and they said it could go Priority mail for $140.00,flywheel itself was only $50.00. Problem is PayPal takes their fee and most of it was from the shipping cost so lost again! Haven't looked at total Ebay charges on it yet.Bottom line in the future I am going to have to get smarter and inflate shipping charges from buyers even more to try to break even, and also get lighter parts to sell.eBay had some major issues the past few days.. all my wife's auctions were deleted (she makes soap) and 2 days later some re-appeared. Maybe it's somehow related...
$25 bux for UPS ground?!?!? I hate it when sellers squeeze more money from buyers by pumping up shipping costs.. you could ship that anywhere in the country for 15 bux US Postal and get it it two days...
Was this the pickup?

Phat rat, you are right..... as well as a lurker. I stand corrected, not in the shadows awaiting to be right and not help someone with questions.
No that would be nice, but it was a 1959 Dodge with low miles and original paint that was used by a cemetery to haul grave markers, so it looked like a five year old truck. Got out bid in the last few seconds.

PLuck, I hope you understand what the guys are telling you, the current bid reflects the amount plus one dollar that you over bid the last high bidder. It doesn't post what your max bid is. If someone bids against you then it tells them in a small box window how much they have to enter to outbid your max. It’s kinda confusing.....
I want to know why ebay bids down to the cents. A bid will go from $5.00 to $7.23. Are people really bidding cents?
