2 Tooth Center?

Back at the pitman arm, the sequence of pieces to be installed are (from deep in the end out to the screw-in plug):

Cup
Ball
Cup
Spring
Screw-in plug

So the end of the drag link that has the hole for the ball to go in that is back away from the screw-in plug end goes to the pitman arm.

Up front at the spindle arm, the ball goes in after the spring and cup are inserted.

Sorry, no pictures. There is a drawing in the Service Bulletins showing the change in design from old to new.

There was an early set up and a late set up for the drag link. The service bulletin is on page 290 of the book dated October 1928 so it depends on which set up you have since it can be placed either way. The early set up has the farther forward positioning connection with the ball ends on the spindle arm and pitman arm. The later set up places the whole rod further toward the rear. The affect this change had was to position the whole drag link further aft to get more clearance with the brake actuator assembly and make it a bit easier to service.

The end with the socket hole that is 3/8" from the tip has to be installed at the front spindle arm ball. The end with the hole that is 1 3/8" from the tip goes on the pitman arm ball. I couldn't find a photo since most have simple illustrations in books like the Service Bulletins for Model As and Les Andrew's model A maintenance manual volume 1.

Looks like I am going to need an adjustable drag link, suggestions on a source? I know that in a video Paul recommends one but I can’t find it.
I believe at one time that Dave Delmue was making adjustable drag links. I don't know if he still is. Here is contact info I have for him, I don't know if it's current as I haven't tried to contact him for several years. A few of my club members have had him build engines for them recently.
