    Manifold cooking

I purchased a manifold cooker from the website below. Great craftsmanship and it works great. The cooker offers a clean/safe way to cook a meal. The key to successful cooking is matching the time/distance of travel to the food to be prepared since you cannot adjust the temp. The maker of the...

how can we get the youth to be come involed in our hobby?

If you want to catch fish you have to throw your lure in the right place. So... if we want younger folks we'll need to take our cars to where they are, not expect them to come to us. If I want to interact with my daughter and her High School age friends, I go to Starbucks, the Mexican...

    Opinion on Brake Bands

I have used them for 5 years on my 30 Tudor. Small price to pay for a remarkable change and eliminating fade. I also added flathead teds. Like both products. Best regards

Aluminum Fan and Seat Belt Question

Good idea about seat belts. Although the car isn't designed for them (and I've read all the why and why not to add them) I think the passenger has Zero safety margin without them. I added front seat belts to my 1930 Tudor last month. Bought them via Amazon and they are the aircraft style...

    Dash Handle

i once owned a 1963 MG that had a chrome handle on the passenger side of the dash. The car doors only had a latch release on the inside of the door (no exterior handle) and the rest of the car was also very sparse in appointments. It was mfg. with seatbelts and therefore there was a measure of...

    Temp Gauges

Here is my temp gauge set up. Used plastic conduit and routed wire through electrical hole in firewall. Bracket and pipe from Mikes and NOS temp gauge for $12 off ebay. About $50 total. Good luck!

    Cleaning Head Light Reflectors

I used silver cleaner on my reflectors once and it removed both the tarnish and the silver. I think that is the goal of most silver polishes. If your lens are silvered, I have found a product that adds silver rather than removes it. I found it at www.caswellplating.com it is called...

    Buying through Mac's

As I Georgia "A" owner I'll suggest Mikes. Really great group of people who care about quality and they are very helpful and appreciate your business. Also check out Mike's wounded warrior project! They are raffling off an "A" to support the families of injured troops...

    Youtube license plate restore video

This is one of the best videos I've seen on restoring license plates. The example is a 1915 Kansas plate. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jb8IvCaGdc

    Indiana Model A Genealogy Help

People ask me the history of my car, but I don't know much information. Although my father-in-law bought it in TN, it was restored by a gentleman in Indiana. I found an old vehicle registration form under the backseat from a Mr. Donald L. Plotner of Syracuse, Indiana. The car is a light...

Please no more american pickers show

Howdy fellow AP fans and fellow A owners, I have a friend who was featured on AP. The show is scripted and planned although the "stuff" and the "owners" are real. My friend didn't want to sell anything, he told them that before they drove in the driveway. He never spoke to the girl with the...

    Horn blowin while goin

I have a 1930 Tudor and as I'm driving the car, the horn will begin to blow. It begins to make noise in a limited way, but not like I'm pushing the horn button. When I move the light switch to any "on" position the horn will stop trying to blow. I've sprayed a little WD-40 but that has not...

Found this turn signal on Ebay

Thanks for the ALL the responses! Now I know mine is a 1936 invention. Thank you! Loved the old magazine accessory "Ad" ..."stop the wig-wagging....." Just think of all the various accessories that ended up in the scrap pile during WWII. At least the metal parts were used to fight for freedom.

Found this turn signal on Ebay

After receiving many great suggestions on wiring my parking lights as turn signals (thank you), I bought this turn signal on Ebay! Do you ever find yourself bidding on things you really don't need, but you want to win??? The first one of these I found sold last week for $190 but this one was...

    Headlight turn signal pondering

I have read many of the great turn signal suggestions, but was wondering if anyone has tried this idea: First the basics: I really don't want to add any more lights or brackets to the car. I did add an extra brake light for safety. I use LEDs for both brake lights. Have retained the 6 volt...

Engine pans - to use or not

Just added them to my Tudor after a visit to Mike's. After reading all the posts it makes sense that Henry would not have spent the money if they were not important. They make the car look much more finished under the hood. They went on easy and should keep the engine compartment cleaner and...

    Water Temp Gauge

I have been considering adding a water temp gauge to my 1930 Tudor. I have read that the motometer cap isn't too reliable. My car isn't boiling over, but I also cannot tell my temp. Maybe I'm too comfortable with all the conveniences in my modern iron as Henry didn't think the gauge was...
