    front wedge

For me "correctly" is a method that centers the shoes in the drum. (New shoes ground to match drum size) I borrowed a pro tool that precisely displays the shoe location relative to the drum and alter the roller tracks accordingly. If someone has success replacing the tracks so be it. These days...

    front wedge

Just a follow up; my issue was mostly solved w/massaging the roller tracks that had been previously and erroneously ground/welded by a psuedo restoration house. Also a pill will NOT achieve any orientation change to wedge/roller relationship. A pill only alters the lever clocking. Thanks, Gary

    front wedge

Howdy, I am curious about the purpose of the step. Just finishing a frt brake job w/ everything renewed and adjusted and find as I work the action prior to installing the drum the wedge will hang up when the step is encountered by the roller/s. It takes a significant increase in brake arm force...

1930 Model A transmission oil change

Most auto parts stores have a cheap plastic pump that is inserted into whatever oil container your working with. Run a tube of equally as cheap hose from the pump to the trans or where ever.

    Need some laquer

I'm talking about the contour stripe not the pin stripe. The common combo that I'm dealing with is Stone Brown, Stone Brown Grey w/ Tacoma Creme pin stripe. I have 2 quarts of Stone Brown in color matched lacquer. I can't get the Grey as my local supplier doesn't have and can't get all of the...

    Need some laquer

Howdy, Does anybody have a source for some lacquer. I'm needing probably a pint of Stone Dark Grey to spot in the accent stripe for a repair. Since my usual local supplier has no more tint to mix that color in lacquer, I was going to try and spot in the accent stripe with some urethane since he...

    31 roadster reproduction door

Thanks guys, That was helpful. I'll burn a little more time searching for an original. I usually call Steve @ Bert's and will do so tomorrow. If no luck in a month I go repro and maybe I can massage it a little to more closely match my original which is welded, brazed, leaded, bondoed and bent...

    31 roadster reproduction door

Howdy, I searched threads and come up fallow for info as the quality of a reproduction left door for a 31 roadster. So who makes them and opinions about the fit and quality against an original. I'd rather go original. However, my posting in wanted and other searches is coming up short so I'm...

    31 Rdstr LH door

Howdy, Anybody have a real nice original LH door for a 31 roadster. I need it. Gotta have it. It needs to be pretty nice. I'm done trying to repair junk and/or repop parts. If it needs a little cosmetic bondo OK. No structural cancer. I know there is one somewhere over the rainbow. Gary...

    u joint lube issues

Awhile ago I ran into some Mobil One 240 weight at a Grainger retail outlet. I bought the quart and haven't used it yet. It's synthetic thick honey. My intention was steering boxes. For the Model A u-joint cavity isn't there some drain holes on the sides or somewhere? Gary

    Inocuous tail light screw question

Howdy, I have a simple question that I could not find a thread for. Are there lockwashers under the two screws that hold the tail light assembly to the fender bracket or just straight round head screw? I've seen nice cars both ways. 31 Rdstr. Gary:o
