Just use a pair of long nose plies to put the retainer in place once the guide is in position.

You got it. Seals on the intake only if you put them on the exhaust you will never get the guide out again.

The original front fenders on my 34 are rolled. The 34 five window I had years ago had rolled front fenders and the extra 34 fenders I have are also all rolled. In fact all of the 33 34 front fenders I have seen had rolled edges.
