    Just wondering?

I have also had long delays getting stuff from Bert’s. I love Steve and appreciate all the free advice but apparently they are overwhelmed with orders. On more than one occasion they haven’t shipped for over a week. Members of our local (west coast) club favored Bert’s because due to lee...

Has anyone replaced the Generator with a Powermaster 6V Alternator on an 8BA?

The OP clearly stated that he was going to stay with 6V yet there were multiple responses against converting to 12V. OT as far as I’m concerned, does anybody even read the original post?

NK, as far as I know, at this time, LiPo batteries are not usable for starter batteries they can’t handle the big load.

    Borg Warner Overdrive

They cannot be used in reverse so you need to install a switch on the transmission or manually lock it out when backing up.

Ideas for mounting relay blocks and light switches

I would put everything under the seat (that’s what I have done) with the switches, buttons, etc in the seat riser at the front of the seat. True, you have to remove the seat bottom to assess the components but that way everything is out of sight.

Modified A will not run at higher RPM

The 2 gauges will not show you anything useful unless you remote mount them inside the cockpit so that you can see them when the engine is actually acting up. If the problem does not start until approx 1/2 throttle then what the gauges show without load is meaningless. You need to do the most...

Modified A will not run at higher RPM

It ran great until he removed and replaced the manifolds. Distributor advance was not changed. I already suggested that he talk to FSI but that is about long term survival of the motor not his current problem. A Brierley head is 7:1, I have 2 of them.

Modified A will not run at higher RPM

Re: Modified A will not Calihute The 81 (as well as a 97 and a 48) power valve is operated in this way: when the accelerator pump reaches the bottom of it’s stroke the rod pushes on a needle valve and opens the power valve. The stock power valve is a 71.

Modified A will not run at higher RPM

Re: Modified A will not Calihute At 115 PSI your engine is great (as it should be). I’m not a big believer in coincidence I seriously doubt the removing the manifolds created a carb problem or a distributor problem (30 degrees is too much advance however, with a 6:1 head you should be in the 24...

I have 2 of Jim’s heads but have never looked at the stamping. I’m out of town at the moment or I would go look.
