    Brake pedal return spring

I am restoring a 1930 Tudor with Burt’s engine and 1939 transmission. I am not a real mechanic. I am having trouble installing the brake pedal return spring because of interference caused by the adapter that holds the pedal shaft . Does anyone have any hints or insights? Also I am unsure what...

    Exhaust whistle

I am rebuilding my 1930 Tudor and have yet to install the body. I came across a four pipe train whistle with the control valve at Bert’s some years ago. I would like to install it now but wonder where others have theirs. The diameter of the valve connector is the larger size, like the pipe from...

    39 pickup

I am unsure how the wood beams are positioned between the cab and frame on this 39 pickup. I know there are some small coil springs on each forward side but I can’t figure out how the beams go

    South Wind Heatew

I am looking for instructions for activating the South Wind heater in my 39 Pickup. The heater is installed and the part protrudes through the firewall. A friend provided me with a jet tube but it needs to be installed. I believe a hole must be drilled in the lid of the float chamber on the...

    Transmission lineage

Casting about in darkness, again. Misfortune has caused me to seek aid from the group. I am wanting to install the nice rebuilt transmission in my 39 pickup and move on instead of lingering to beat dead horses. I am just about to the end of my runway and what doesn't get finished will soon go to...

    Brake pedal bushings

Having difficulty locating brake pedal bushings for my 39 pickup project. Apparently a different lash up than a 40. The parts guys say this part is out of production. Not too hard to reproduce but easier to get a NOS one if possible. Thanks John

    Macs

Working on the 39 pickup and new 2018 hot off the press catalogue from Mac's arrived. Since I was ready to order parts, I made up the list, added up the prices and gave them a call. Somehow $416,82 became $568.51 . That included shipping but also a 10% sale discount. Have to stand up for...

    Shock bolts

Probably everyone but me knows where to obtain shock mounting bolts for 39 Ford pickup. Carriage bolts are too soft, round bolts will round out the square holes in the frame. Can't seem to find any in the catalogues. Previous owner was an Ace hardware junkie. Anybody got any ideas?

    Rear spring bolt head

Talking about 1939 pickup rear spring center bolt. Using the correct square head bolt from Roy N. It seems like the head should slip into the square hole in the crossmember. I would propose the hole provides relief clearance for the bolt head, but also serves to prevent the spring from shifting...

    Wishbone parts

On the rear wishbone of my 39 pickup, there is a rubber encased shackle type bolt that fits into the rear axle housing by the brake backing plates. These are worn out. I am trying to reassemble the chassis and would like to replace them of course. Where can they be procured, and how are they...

    39 pickup questions

Ready to begin assembly of the chassis and running gear for my 39 pickup. I have an engine rebuilt by Walt DuPont and want to get everything together. The frame is nicely painted and all the springs and brake plates etc. have been blasted and painted also. I was wondering about an ad I saw in a...

    Spring bolts

Just blasted the disassembled springs for my 39 pickup restoration and noticed the grease grooves in the leaves. How does one inject the stuff? Also, I will be replacing the center bolt and will check the strength of various bolts. I am leaning toward an AN aircraft bolt but need to know the...

    Looking for Flop

Does anyone have a way to contact Tom? I have tried multiple calls and text messages to no avail. My 84 year old friend is going to Pittsburgh to pick up a gas tank for his 41 Lincoln and asked if I want to ride along. I need to pick up som 39 fenders from Tom but can't get ahold of him. For JM 35 SEDAN

I was wondering if you could please contact me about early V-8 parts. There is a gentleman here on The Northern neck of Virginia who has a whole building crammed full of early Ford parts. Complete and disassembled V8 and V12 engines, transmissions, body parts, etc etc. He is in his eighties and...

    Steam Jenny

I made a post on the V-8 forum and will repeat it here for what it's worth. I have an older L&A steam Jenny that I have been using on my greasier projects. The heat of the steam really cleans the grime and grease from engines, transmission, front end etc. On this Model A project, I shot the...
