went to fit some reds headers today but could not quite get them in. only tried driver side so far. looks like i will need to jack up engine to get it in (prob 1/2" or so?), how far can you jack it? will chatter bars need removing, gearbox mount etc. any other probs to look out for? thanks.

the pitman arm on my 36 is very slightly loose on the splines, i removed nut and put another washer to tighten up on the taper as i thought nut was bottoming on thread end,no difference, although the arm is loose it would not pull off splines by hand, going to take off tonight any thing obvious...

my 36 water level seems to like to stay at matrix level filling it higher it drops again does not overheat, no visible hose leaks or from rad overflow on stopping, no smoke from exhaust(head gasket?) and the car runs fine, any thoughts and where should the level stay? thanks.

bought 36 hood rubber kit, what tool do you use to crimp the rivets supplied over, the old rubbers were pop-riveted, thanks.

connected tyre pump to fuel line it blew back to tank removed blockage, then no prob car running fine, note to self do not run out of gas. thanks for all replys.

have put 5 gallons in now,fitted new inline filter, removed feed from pump it sucked up from a jar no probs and primed the carb, engine fired ok and ran for 15/20 secs fair length of hose to filter,then died would have thought would have sucked fuel thru, removed feed to filter still cannot...

re other post, car stalled outside garage, i thought petrol put 2 gallons in and cranked dozen times should be enough?, after this i put a hand inline syphon pump on carb feed could get nothing thru, drained glass fuel bowl it is not refilling when cranking, will get some fuel tomorrow and see...

how long should it take to crank petrol thru after running out with mech pump? thx

just fitted front/rear possie springs lowered the car by about 2" all round,sits nice now, did not have a spring spreader(how would one work with reverse eye?) so used 2 trolley jacks and a crowbar and a lot of care!

suspension shackles sit at approx 40/45 degrees, what degree movement under normal driving would you expect from the shackles with rubber bushed shackle bolts? does the rubber bonding stop movement? the plastic sleeved shackles/bolts can move as much as is needed? just trying to understand the...

when i changed front spring, the spring and perch bolts had the square ends for shackles, they ran in the plastic/poly bushes. can you buy bolts like these or have they had the valconised rubber sleeve and cover removed? thanks again.

are shackle bolts/ studs with rubber insert a interferance fit in spring eye? if so how can you line up the square for the shackle bar, i am replacing spring but hope to leave bolts in perches which have seized, re wishbone question, thanks.

with the leaf spring out, how easy is the rear wishbone removal on a 36 thanks.

here is a pic of my window mechanism ,36 coupe, the channell holding glass winds down at angle, surely it should stay horizontal? my window jammed could it of jumped a cog or two? thanks.

my door window glass jammed in up position one riser arm had come out of its track, removed door card and managed to free it but the glass came out (had a crack anyway) the mechanism now goes down at quite a severe angle? which binds the glass,where as the other side winds down horizontal, tried...
