shackle bolts

are shackle bolts/ studs with rubber insert a interferance fit in spring eye? if so how can you line up the square for the shackle bar, i am replacing spring but hope to leave bolts in perches which have seized, re wishbone question, thanks.

Yes, interference fit. The springs are easy, cause the spring eye can expand a little. Perches are a different story..... difficult both getting old ones out and pressing new ones in.

As far as aligning the square shank, 45 degrees from horizontal should be close.

the square part can be rotated slightly to align, use a wrench or spanner
