Need to buy tubes so need some education. Snyders says "The rubber stem tubes end up costing a lot less in the long run since you don't have to purchase all of the additional hardware" What is the alternative to rubber stem tubes? Where should I buy them?

When I got it on the spring came out. I used the tool shown. It started a little crooked so I straightned it and it went in fine. I believe I have the correct side up?

It is loose at the top and bottom. I know it should be tight where it goes into the steering box and it does go in a little bit but no matter how hard I push or bang, it won't go on. I took the fabric out of the top bushing just to help. I am probably not seeing something obvious. I see nothing...

Is the cotter pin supposed to be on the outside or inside? Whydoes it matter?

The Spark and Gas rods go thru the steering column upper bushing, As you can see in the photo, the bushing is pressed as far as it will go into the column but the levers are still 3/8" from contacting the groved section on the column head. I triple checked the part number (A3540 SSB)

I bought P/N A-7508-Q4. Two bushings are required for each pedal. In the original bushing the hole in the bushing lined up with the Zerk fitting. There was a half moon drilled at the end of the bushing so when they were installed there was a complete hole that aligned up with the zerk fitting...
