    Bumper supports

I need to remove the body on my '30 coupe. My car was converted to a rumble seat, I can’t see the bolts for the rear bumper supports that mount to the body. Do I just unbolt the bottom bolt that squeezes the mount to the frame bracket instead?

    Removing center crossmember

I need to remove and replace my center crossmember on my 30 coupe frame. Should I just weld some square stock across frame close to the crossmember to brace it? Any tips on removing the rivets? Thanks.

    Removing 1930 front fenders

I need to remove my front fenders to do a frame repair on my 30 coupe. I already have the hood, rad, engine, radiator apron removed. What’s the procedure to remove them? Do I have to loosen all the body bolts or can I just loosen the front under the cowl that mount them?

    Brake Light Switch Backwards

I installed a new harness recently and everything worked fine, but the rear brake lights stay on until I depress the pedal. The car is a '30 with two rear tail lights and I'm using a '28-'29 brake light switch. I figured it might be a ground issue but the brake lights work just not correctly...

    Brake Banjo Bolt

I ran hydraulic brakes on an A coupe like a '39-'48, but I'm having a hard time getting the banjo bolt T to seal. With pressure on the system I get a very faint seeping around the bolt head side of the washer. And yes, I annealed the copper washers and tightened the bolt as much as it would go...

    Brake T Bolt

Is this the correct 91A-2150 front brake T bolt on the 39-48 passenger cars? It only has one outlet hole other than the inverted end that looks to screw into a hose. I've seen the reproduction bolts with that part number and they have two outlet holes on the side.

    USA Light Switch

I've seen conflicting things on the new reproduction switch. What all is exactly needed to get it working correctly? I have a new harness from Bratton's and a new USA switch. I've heard to modify the harness disc, or sand down the metal housing on the switch. Who all is running this setup and...

    Rear wheel alignment

Has anyone dealt with the rear wheels not sitting centered in the rear fenders? The drivers side is close but the passenger side sits a lot more towards the rear of the fender. I had my rear end out and installed a different spring, I still haven't installed the radius rods but that shouldn't...

    When installing the rear axle...

Is it necessary to have the rear wish bones attached first? I'm about to install the rear but it won't have the brakes on at the moment because I need to lap the axle tapers.

    Rear spring center bolt

I noticed my new tie bolt has a considerably thicker head than the original bolt I pulled from the spring pack. Should I file down the top of the head to be the same thickness as the original? Seems like if I used it as is it would hit against the bottom of the trunk floor before the spring...

    Headlights and Wiring Harness

The wiring on my '30 coupe is pretty sad, a lot of splices and odd things going on. I'm planning on installing a new harness but I'm kind of confused on whats going on. I'm thinking my car is a standard with cowl lights added at some time in the past, it doesn't have a dome light. It has dual...

    Measurement Needed Cross member

I've been having a heck of a time re-installing my front end after repair work to a front cross member. I'm starting to think my square hole may be slightly off and it needs to be filed back more. Can someone with a nice 1930-31 cross member take a measurement for me? Pay no attention to the...

    Front axle install

Awhile back I pulled my front end out to repair the front cross member. I noticed it had some nasty cracks and a wallowed out tie bolt hole. I welded up the cracks and bolt hole along with the drivers side crank bearing hole. I used carbide burrs and make sure all the repairs were near seamless...

    F-1 grease seals

Which side is the correct way to be installed in the hub? Flush side facing the spindle or recessed side facing the spindle?

    Grease Zerk size

Does anyone know the size of the grease fittings for '37-'48 Ford spindle bushings?

    Front crossmember bolt hole

How important is the fitment of the tie bolt in this square hole? My crossmember bolt hole isn't perfectly square so the bolt has some space around it. Once in place wouldn't the wishbone keep the spring and axle from shifting? I figured the spring fits in the crossmember fairly tight too.

    Aluminum heads

I have an old pair of Edmunds 8BA heads, but one of the spark plug holes on a head was drilled and tapped for a bigger sized plug. Is this a problem?

    '30 coupe hood bracket?

This is probably a dumb question but, how do I get the hood off properly? In the Les Andrews book it shows two nuts and lock washers holding the rear support backet on. Is this only for the '28-'29? It shows it under the cowl lip in the book. I can't see or feel any nuts under where the screws...

    Spring crossmember pad?

What are you guys using for a "pad" between the top of the springs and crossmember? I remember someone on here said they made them out of some material.
