Can anyone tell me how to replace the fiber disc in this accelerator pump check valve? I don't see any obvious way to get it apart and I'm being very careful not to screw it up. I bought the kit from Gary Bowyer and everything was fine till I got to the check valve. Thanks

I'm looking over the engine out of my all-original '40 4 door. It has 50xxx miles on it. Doesn't look like it has ever been apart. It has 81A cast into the bellhousing. Sounds like '38 to me. Has steel sleeves and steel pistons. Was this casting carried over from '38?
