Short of adding an electric fuel pump for start-up purposes, do any of you Barners prime your flatheads for that initial start after vehicle sits a day or two? How much gas do you use, etc.????

Do any of you know of a 6 volt battery with higher cranking amps (CCA) than a red-top Optima at 800 CCA????

Need some help on finding hood hinge hardware for my 1952 F1 - need bolts to hold bracket onto firewall. Have all the hinges and springs, etc. but one bolt sheared off (after only 61 years!!!!) - it is the driver's side bracket that fastens onto firewall. Thanks - Bruno

Has anybody used the BLT G-flooring? A roll-out vinyl sheet that comes in several thicknesses (55 mil and 75 mil) - some is available in 9' x 44' rolls. Thought this might be a good alternative to epoxy coating as I have heard mixed reports on durability of that. Thanks for your input - Bruno

Just wondering what other F-1 V8 owners find works best on cold starting of their flattie - pumping the gas pedal or just keeping it down all the way? I know I lose the carb prime between infrequent starts and it takes a lot of cranking to get it going the first time - okay after it runs...

Have a 1952 F1 with a Pertronix 6 volt ignition system (coil and "distributor") - will fire right up cold on just a crank or two; runs great. Shut it off for a few minutes after running for half hour or more trip and it does not want to start - cranks and cranks!! Thought it might be vapor...

Have been using Optima 6 volt batteries (red top) in my '52 F1 for last 10 or 12 years - wonder what kind of battery life other Ford Barners get from their 6 volt Optimas??? One I'm using is about 3 years old but seems fine; I put a trickle charger on it when I'm not driving it daily.

Have to remind myself every once in awhile (or something happens to help me remember!!) that good, tight connections on all electrical wiring and grounding is really important on a 6 volt system. Pays dividends to spend a bit of time checking to see that all the connections are clean and solid!!
