    different flathead starter

I Thought all V8 starters were the same. However I have one that has a case that is 6 inches long with a short (1/4"?) endplate. All the others I have are 5 1/2 " case with thicker endplate. Total length is same for both starters. These are 6 Volt. Where did the 6" long case come from? Thanks

    32 roadster windshield seal

Simple question. Does the rubber seal at the bottom of the windshield frame lay against the outside of the ridge on the cowl or up against the inside ledge? Pictures I have seen are not clear. Inside looks better, outside allows opening windshield. Thanks

    32 rumble latch

The 32 is now up and running! I am catching up on some of my 32 trivia and sub-trivia questions. (I got a bunch of 'em). For starters, what is the finish on the rumble latch and attaching screws? The one I have has no paint finish, looks like old cad plate since their is no rust, just dirty...

32 cowl and grille shell lacing

I would like to know the dimensions (cross section) of the B-16739 and B-16740 (?) lacings. What little I do know is the A & L stuff is long gone. Snyder's brown core oval seems good for the cowl, but may be too thick for the grille shell. (Not talking about the white core black round stuff)...

    32 roadster molding color masking

I am getting ready to paint my roadster. Washington blue with black moldings. The two big detail questions are: 1) Where does the black lower molding line stop where it passes through the door sill. 2) where does the molding line stop on the body quarter panel as it rolls into the rumble seat...

    32 rumble and trunk detail

On roadsters (and maybe coupes), were the holes for the trunk hinge included on all bodies, even the deluxe that had the rumble seat? If so, Is one of those holes used for the rumble upper alignment plates? I am looking at a coupe that has the holes, but I believe it was converted. The service...

    32 rubber floor mat question

Does the rubber floormat use any fastener studs/clips to hold it down like the carpet floormats? If so, how many and what locations? I have two "extra" holes in the #1 floorboard, but none in the #2 board. Just trying to get it right (the first time)! Thanks Floyd

    32 roadster rumble panesl

How do the rumble side cardboard panels attach? Locations and size of fasteners. There are 3 vertical 1/4 inch holes in the brace near the front of the wheel arch, and no visible holes near the back edge. Trying to do this as original as possible. Pictures would be great. The LB instructions...

    32 wiper hose routing

Adding the zillion holes to a new (yeah its a reproduction unfortunately, but not rusted out) roadster windshield frame. I have locations for all of the holes except the two tiny ones for the clips that hold the wiper hose from the stanchion to the motor. As part of this, which way do the two...

    32 windlace and floormat question

The first question is easy, is there a pad (jute?) that goes under the tan rubber floormat B35230 for open car (roadster)? Nothing in parts list but who knows what some of the terms mean. Second question has to do with cowl and quarter panel upholstery. In the wonderful "book" it states that...

32 grille teeth sea gull grey color

I know the color name and can get a number but I cannot find a color chip even online of approximately what shade of grey this is. Hate to buy a quart of paint from Autocolor just to paint the bars. I have rustoelum smoke grey which is used for Delta woodworking machines. It is a nice grey but...

    32 Roadster dash color details

Although "dash" is the firewall, I am referring to the common use of the word dashboard. What little I do know is standard roadster was painted and deluxe was woodgrain (walnut burl)? The questions I have are; 1) Is the woodgrain walnut burl or something else? 2) was the woodgrain "booked"...

Which heads to use for my LB, flat or dome?

I will be tearing down my newly acquired 36 LB engine to rebuild to basically stock specs (except cam) to run in my 32. I have a set of the 68- replacement cast iron heads for dome pistons and a good set of cast iron heads for flat top pistons, probably from a truck since they are iron, not...
