Is it possible to lubricate the speedometer head?

I have a 1931 Model A with a noisy speedometer head. It functions fine and the noise comes from the head, not the cable. Is it possible to lubricate it or is this a job best left for professionals?

My generator has lost it's mind

My long style generator has suddenly started needing to be "re-polarized" each morning in order to charge. Brushes, battery, wiring and ammeter are all fresh. I use a stock style cutout. The connections, including the brushes, are clean and snug. The battery never goes dead, the car starts and...

Source needed for good quality ammeter

After replacing two ammeters, sourced from a quality vender, I am looking for a better quality item. The needles fell off of both of them. Are everybody's the same? I would be fine with paying a higher price to obtain this necessary item.

Step #1 for fixing my wipers! Identification

I have a 1931 Coupe with no wiper motor. These were included in a box with it. Is the lower one what the coupe would have used? If so, any idea what the other two are for? Perhaps they could be barter material for what I need? Thank you in advance

With all of the ignition timing questions, why not use a timing light?

Other than the trouble of finding an old timing light that will work on our cars, is there a reason that more people don't time the ignition that way. Once the pulley is accurately marked and a timing scale is installed, ignition timing is so simple. No more question about "what is what" with...

    Pre-start oil fill

If I understand this correctly, on a rebuilt engine, I should put two quarts of oil down the distributator hole to fill the lifter area and the dipper tray. Is there any reason not to put all five (or 4 1/2) quarts down there? Thank you in advance.
