1931 coupe wiring harness question

I have decided to undo a multitude of prior " repairs" to my 1931 Coupes wiring harness and replace it. Does anyone have a preference and why for a vender? Thank you in advance.

Just bought a harness from Brattons, which has been recommended here many times. I think, because of the correctness of the bullet ends on the wires for the headlamps. I have also seen the harnesses from Sacramento Vintage Ford beeing recommended reportedly because of the quality/heavy wire gauge used. However, when I called them up, the guy on the phone couldn't tell me anything about whether or how their wiring harness differed from that of others, so I ended up not buying from them. The harness from Brattons probably works fine, but unfortunately they have made the switch end incorrectly using modern style cable lugs and terminals, so I ended up with cutting off all wires at the switch end and dig out an original switch and resolder the wires to the original switch. I would expect however that this is the same for all vendors, but hope that someone could prove me wrong

i just used a brattons harness which went in and worked with no problems. i also used their connectors to the headlights which also went seamless.

I bought my 1928 taillight harness from Sacramento Vintage Ford because they make their own harness and make it the correct length. 1928 should go all the way to the light without any splice connectors. I have an NOS switch plate to solder the harness to. I've also bought from Bratton's for the later Model A's and not had a problem.

I rewired my 31 coupe with a harness from Bert's. No problem with the install, though had to add bullet connectors to the headlights and running lights due to the old hacked up wiring. No need for added length anywhere or fit problems.

Tyree Harriss, the man makes them himself, exactly like fords, here in the USA. 804-556-5200. He is located in Bumpass VA.

I second Tyree Harris! Great quality and competitively priced. He will wire one on an original base upon request or if you send him one.

One of the things I have run into with all the vendor harnesses is that the wires that run to the brake light switch are too short as compared to an original harness. That is why I started to use Tyree Harris. I have sent him several original switch plates which I prefer and he has wired those and they work perfectly. Original switch plates have deeper dimples so they click better.

I have never thought of sending Tyree Harris original switch plates to build the harness off of. This is a great idea. I have many of them. Thank you!

Although this has little to due with the original post, just wanted to state that nobody makes a 100% correct harness for fine point. Just putting it out there.
