Hi, my 41 merc has a lot of play in the steering, I changed the tie rod ends, and drag link. All of the play is in the steering box. I see an adjustment on top of the box but there is no slot in the bolt in the center. There is a star shaped washer under the lock nut. Anyone know how to adjust...
Have a very straight 30-31 radiator. No repairs ever or bent fins. I took it off a 31 sedan that had been restored, and sat in a garage for 20 years. No leaks but it will have to go to a radiator shop for boiling out or rodding it to get a good flow in it. Asking $200 plus shipping. Local guys...
January 1930 model A standard roadster. Amateur restoration. Original motor. Runs fine and no oil leaks. This is a very rare car as it has dual sidemounts from the factory, unlike most that were added later by reatorers. Sidemount brackets are riveted to the frame from the factory. The fenders...
Check out ebay under Ford 1937 concept car barn find,... looks like someone with a wild imagination built this car, but the cowl and gas tank are from a 30-31 model A.
Hi, my 41 Merc original carburetor goes dry in the bowl after a few days, and makes it hard to start without priming. Would a new Stromberg carburetor be the answer over trying to rebuild the old one? Any suggestions?
Pretty nice pair of 30-31 front fenders, $100 each. Good hood, $75. rear ends, $40 each. sun visor, $75. windshield frame, $75. Gas tank, nice, $100. Have other small stuff, send want list. Prefer pickup on large items.
Hi, I just bought a 31 coupe and the hood fits terrible on the passenger rear side, having a gap of about 5/8ths inch. What's the secret of adjusting the hoods? It seems that the radiator has to be moved somehow.
Hi, my 41 merc dries up after about a week of sitting. And I have to prime the carburetor to get it started. Can I install an electric pump somewhere in the gas line to solve my problem? Any ideas would be appreciated.
thanks
Hi, just bought a coupe, old restoration which has a rear main leak. I checked out all the possibilities of overpressurized case etc. So I pulled the pan and rear main bearing. From looking at the inside the engine was rebuilt and rebabbited not too long ago. They also had installed a seal...two...
I replaced my timing gear and changed the nut to the modern type that fits a regular socket. How tight does it have to be? I snugged it up pretty good. thanks
How hard is it to change the gear on the camshaft with the engine in place? I know it is straight forward but is the gear nut hard to remove?
thanks in advance.
