The driver’s door on my ‘40 convertible won’t lock. When I pull the inside door handle up, it doesn’t lock. I can still open it from the outside, even though the inside handle is in the up position. Your thoughts? Thanks, Sid

‘40 lower grill pan My ‘40 convertible was missing this part #01A-8434. Now that I have it, I see that it doesn’t cover the entire area between the grill and the radiator. Does anything else go there? There are 2 holes in the trailing edge of this piece. What attaches there? Thanks, Sid

I emailed Drake, and they said they were not aware of any cooling issues with their radiators. I’m considering finding an old correct one and having it recored. I’m concerned that after 80 years most will be pretty beat up. Sid

‘40 radiator Air deflector My’40 convertible is missing this part. Thankfully, it’s reproduced, so I can order one. My question is, what type of fasteners were used to attach it to the base of the grill? Screws or bolts? Thanks, Sid

I might do that. However, my car is very original and I would like to make it even more so, but I also want it to perform properly. Does anyone have any recent history with the drake radiator? Have they corrected the problems? Thanks, Sid

My ‘40 convertible has a radiator with a radiator cap in the center of the top, and it doesn’t have two separate cores (one for each side of the engine). It does have a hole for the crank to pass through. Were any forty Fords equipped with such a radiator originally? Sid
