40 convertible seat

I need to take the front seat out of my 40 convertible coupe. From underneath the car, I can see where the bolts come through the floorboard and into cage nuts. I can get a wrench on the head of the bolt at the front of the track, but not the back bolt. I can just barely see the back bolt with a flashlight. The rear of the seat has carpet covered foot rests which restrict access to the rear bolt. If I could remove the foot rests, I think I could access the rear bolts. Does anyone know how to remove the foot rests? Thanks, Sid

Slide the seat forward and you should be able to reach the bolt heads.
The seat is adjustable for & aft. Its probably all the way back.

Ken is correct in that you obviously have an incorrect seat in your car. Most likely and somewhat common is a seat from a Tudor sedan being utilized.
The rear bolts are a bit of a task to remove but can be done as others have advised.
Perhaps, when the seat is out, you may want to remove the footrests and the respective brackets.
