    1935 windshield seal

I have a '35 Phaeton. Not sure if I have a correct windshield as I'm unable to insert a C & G '35 seal--it's clearly too wide to slip into my 1/8" wide channel. My windshield is also slightly smaller than my friend's '35 Phaeton. I've used soap and a putty knife w/o success. I've called...

    1935 horn wiring issue

Thanks Ted: I'll try that after I reassemble the horns. On Inspection I noted one set of points off center from each other so not sure the spark could occur; I reset them. And I noted the fixed post which holds one end of the plate that suspends the upper part of the points was rather loose...

    1935 horn wiring issue

Hi MRTexas: I'm pretty sure my horns are reproductions; photos soon. I did clean the points with grit paper like ignition points and then tried to find the correct gap--do you know if a precise gap number is advised, as with spark plug gaps?

    1935 horn wiring issue

Hi Kevin: Thanks for your prompt reply and advise. Let me clarify: My horns are not originals based on some photos in the Forum. I have a foot starter. My horns have the 2 wires going into them as described above so it looks like I don't need to worry about a relay. So the plan is: (1)...

    1935 horn wiring issue

Although I read 2 similar threads, I'm still stuck with 2 non-working '35 horns so here goes. Background: 1. they worked poorly but worked a few months ago but then stopped and didn't respond to adjustments with the screw adjuster, and now not at all. 2. They are repro horns, judging by prior...

1935 ignition switch back portion of pill box

I need the back portion of the ignition switch assembly (also referred to as the pillbox) for my '35 Ford; the portion with the protrusion onto which the brush swings. Thanks, Ron (ronsallygrassi@mac.com)

    Frame VIN

HI Da Wizzard: I'm in Calif. and have driven my A to the 2 closest DMVs for inspection and they each insist I lift the body off the frame so they can inspect for the VIN. What a job. I'm annoyed as this all arose when they missed sending me my Registration notices, and they dropped me from the...

    generator

    I have a '35 Ford with a '37 engine and a 6 volt system. 2 questions: 1) what are the differences, if any, between a '35 and '37 generator (2) I assume if there's a difference, then I should run with a 37 generator?

Carb questions for a 35 Ford

Thanks JSeery for the added info and recommendation. Hopefully getting closer to a solution. Am awaiting a rebuilt Carb from Max and a pump from Ken. Checked for air leaks-none found, connections tight. Hoses clear. Tank full. Still have spark. May know in a week. Ron

Carb questions for a 35 Ford

Thanks JSeery: I'll check with Napa and B & G re an electric pump; The diaphragm leak issue is motivating me to run the line direct to the Carb. So, if I do, do I just bypass the pump i.e. it just sits there? Ron

Carb questions for a 35 Ford

Terry: I'm thinking the reason for the over-heating of my resister was a combination of holding down the accelerator more that say 5 seconds along with several follow up attempts coupled with my not having cleaned the resister in the first place of any possible chemicals before using it. I'm...

Carb questions for a 35 Ford

Frank: yes, I've poured a few ounces down the carb, the engine responds w. the engine turning over for 1-2 seconds, than dies. I'm checking for air leaks this weekend, and am swapping fuel pumps and carbnext week.

Carb questions for a 35 Ford

JSeery: I'll check for resistance. But a question: My resister is as you've shown in the pic. But is it just the round shaped metal on the left of the board that acts as an effective resistance, or is there something inside it like a ceramic piece which absorbs electricity?
