Wanted '34 Front Engine Motor Mounts

Hi, I've just found out the hard way that '35 engine mounts won't fit the '34 chassis! So does anyone have for sale a useable pair of '34 mounts? They are part numbers 40-6030 and 40-6031. Please email me at mike@steckdepositors.com Thanks, Mike

    steering worm: pressing on shaft

Just done this job and opted for doing it cold and using plenty of force! I'm sure this is how they would have done it at the factory, they wouldn't want to have the inconvenience of a heating process on the assembly line if it could be avoided and in any case it would be so easy to ruin the...

'34 Ford Track Rod and Drag Link ends

Thanks for the tip on the Model A being similar. Looking through some earlier posts there is mention of 'the book' saying that the springs should be compressed by 25% of their original length. I'll give that a try and see where that leaves the plug compared to your coil bound and backing off...

'34 Ford Track Rod and Drag Link ends

Thanks Terry. So in theory then the links aren't rigid, there is some slight springiness in them, can that be felt in driving I wonder as compared to later 'rigid' ball joint... Mike

'34 Ford Track Rod and Drag Link ends

Hi, I'm having a bit of trouble understanding how to set the end caps of the track rod and drag link ends on a '34 ford. The rod ends on these models feature a removable cap that has one ball seat on, while the other ball seat is spring loaded. So question is, how far or how tight do you...

    Arvin 70-B Heater installation in a '34

Hi, Does anyone have installation details for putting a Arvin 70-B heater into a '34 Ford? In particular I need to know where to put the 2 holes for the water feeds which also clamp the heater to the firewall. I've got the body off and completely stripped at the moment and so don't have any...

    Banjo Rear End Assembly Summary

Hi, Thanks to all who helped out with information on the assembly of a '34 Rear Axle. There is a lot of information available out there in various location, but I thought that a summary of it and my learning may help others. I actually found the whole process straightforward once I...

Procedure for assembling '34 Rear Axle

Hi, Can anyone point me in the right direction to find the procedure for assembling a '34 rear axle? I've got info on the pinion bearing pre-load at 12 to 17 lb in, and that the differential side bearing adjustment should be a 'light drag'. But what about the other clearances? I've heard...

Radial tires for a 34 Ford?

Does anyone have any experience of fitting a '34 Model 40 with radial tires? My car came to me in the UK with a set of 16" wheels, and while I'm looking around for a 17" set I thought I might use the 16" wheels with a set of radial tyres, 175/80 16 that are available cheaply in the UK for use...

    Matching Cordoba Gray

Hi, I'm restoring a '34 Fordor in the UK and I'm having trouble correctly matching 'Cordoba Gray'. The car was originally black but I like the look of Cordoba Gray on pictures I've seen on the internet. Problem is every pic I've got, even those of the same car, look slightly different! So has...
