Radial tires for a 34 Ford?

Does anyone have any experience of fitting a '34 Model 40 with radial tires?

My car came to me in the UK with a set of 16" wheels, and while I'm looking around for a 17" set I thought I might use the 16" wheels with a set of radial tyres, 175/80 16 that are available cheaply in the UK for use on London Taxis.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Mike

I have a hot rod '34 with 15 inch radial tires and a nearly stock 37 with 16 inch radials. Much easier to steer and much smoother ride than the old bias tires. But make sure that the tread width remains as small as the bias or it will steer harder.

I have two 1933 Fords, one Roadster and one coupe with Coker 600/16 radials and have much inproved road ride and steering over bias ply.
