Ken ct, thanks for the help. I dropped the float level down as suggested. It's a lot better now but still stalls occasionally when stopping. Also, when trying to adjust the idle mixture, the engine/vacuum does not change when turning the needle values all the way in or out.
I also noticed in...
Mike AZ, yep it starts right back up.
Ken CT, the upside down way is the recommended method by Stromberg using this link

but I'll give yours adjustment a try.
Thanks guys
My 1936 221 cu flathead with a Stromberg 97 stalls when I come to a stop. I tried adjusting the float using the dry method by holding the carb upside down so the top of the float is level with the edge of the bowl, but that didn't fix the stalling. It runs great otherwise. Any suggestions?
Should there be an "O" ring or gasket installed on the oil pump where it attaches to the block of a 36 flathead? There is a circular indentation on the oil pump shaft where it slides into the block as if it's for an "O" ring.
Should there be a washer on the bolt/nut holding the oil pressure relief valve and spring in position on a 1936 coupe flathead? There was no washer when it was removed.
Could someone provide me with a picture showing the location of the body number tag for a 36 5 Window coupe? I have the holes in the firewall for the patent tag but not the body number tag.
Thanks.
Peder,
I'm currently working on my door windows for my 36 5 window. The glass was new and came with the car when I bought it about 10 years ago, so I don't know where it came from. It measures 27 3/16 x 13 7/16, so I would say your glass is the correct size. At this point my glass does not...
Thanks Tom,
I do have about a 6 foot strip of the u-channel as well. So is this u-channel only used in the upper back corner of the door, nowhere else?
