36 5 Window door channels

I’m attempting to install new door window channel seals in my 36 5 Window Coupe. The car did not have windows when I purchased it over 10 years so I don’t have much to go on as far as old parts to look at. However it did come with a new door glass run kit purchased from Tom Meyer V-8 Ford (dated 1991). The 35 5 Window installation procedures listed in the back of the Dennis Carpenter parts catalog shows the installation of the top back of door glass run slides. My kit includes a glass slide for the door top front but not the door top back. My kit also includes separate felt strips and not a u-channel which does seem to be correct because my doors do not have a place for the anti-rattle pads either, just screw holes. Am I missing the top back of door glass slide, or doesn’t the center mounted door handle style door use this back slide? It does appear that something should be installed in its place. The kit listed in the MACs parts catalog does not include a back slide in its picture for part number 48-45983-5W4DB.

Here are the instructions from a Bob Drake kit. Maybe it will help.

Thanks Tom,

I do have about a 6 foot strip of the u-channel as well. So is this u-channel only used in the upper back corner of the door, nowhere else?
