    55 Ford convertible top wiring

I have to wire my 54 also which I have converted to a 12 volt system with a 12v pump out of a Cadillac. They all seem to use the same pump. My plan is to temporarily wire and test it. If the wire gets hot and the pump boggs down the wire is too small. If you have the original 6 volt wire that is...

    1954 turn signals

Thank you for the good advice. Now I have an idea on how to fix it. Loved the Sun City comment... I may have been one of those last winter :) John

    1954 turn signals

My 54 Ford turn signals do not reset after I make the corner. I can not remember if that is how they were back in the day. Or are mine just miss adjusted some how? I thought I would ask before I crawl under and try to figure it out myself. I hate it when I discover I just drove 5 miles with the...

Model A s had a supercharged 4. When I visited a car show in Austin Texas I saw one for the first time. It had a McCulloch super charger.

    12v 6v windows

Another trick to try if you are adventuresome is to make a 5 cell C size NiCad battery pack to operate the windows. 5 nicads in series is 6 volts. This C size cell is what they use in battery powered drills. One pack should work for all 4 windows if you put them up or down one at a time. You...

    12v 6v windows

If it is possible I would check the current draw at 6 volts. It is probably goin to be less, maybe about 12 amps. This is just a guess, I have not measured one. What ever it is 6 volts / 12 amps for example is 1/2 ohm. That is the resistor size you need to drop 12 volts to 6 volts for that...

    1954 rear springs

I am replacing rear springs on my 54. I ordered new bolts and bushings from Macs but the bushings seem way too soft. I am thinking of going to energy suspension poly bushings. Has anyone tried these with positive results? I was amazed to see how the front attach bolt is only fixed on one...

It's Going to be a Long Winter

That is the best looking 4door HT from that era! I see it is different but still really nice. I probably have seen them but did not notice they were 4 doors. You have a great looking car!

It's Going to be a Long Winter

Rick, that 4 door hardtop is pretty rare, not sure if I have seen one in person. Is the roof line the same as a 2door hard top? From the photos it looks the same and better than the Chevy versions where they changed the roof line a lot.

Help selecting a carburetor for stock 292 y block

A 300 cu inch engine draws about 500 cfm at roughly 5800 rpm. This is why I chose a 500cfm Edelbrock for my 302. I doubt I will ever max it out. It runs very well but a bit rich out of the box. I have new needles to put in one size leaner, but have not yet installed them.

1955 Ford Club Sedan Refresh Blog

Do yourself a favor and put in a new upgraded swaybar. They are available in 1inch and 1 1/8 inch I think. I put a 1 inch on my 54( same chassis) and it made an amazing difference in body roll. There is a guy on here, Dave something, I think that sells a really nice kit. I'm sure he will...
