is the fluid in the power steering and the transmission the same, and if it is like
i thought what type is correct for my 59? also has any used brad-penn oil in your
cars, i was told a straight 30w would be the best choice as far as helping to reduce
any oil leaks?

The Ford power steering units in the 50's used regular Type A trans fluid. Do not use ATF as the different chemical make up will find any possible leak. Type F should be a good replacement as Type A is very hard to find.

I use Brad Penn also. Very good for solid lifter engines and race engines. Have no idea if it would help to reduce leaks though? Sounds like age and gasket issues to me.
