38 Ford hood prop, the large hole in the bottom of the prop is filled by a factory rubber hard bushing and inner sleeve, you have to make it, it was not designed to be replaced, came with new hood prop.

My 38 Ford has dual wire hose clamps, not the flat style. They look like original factory hoses and clamps, car been in storage long time and low miles, very clean and all original under the hood. Is this a original clamp or ever used say only in 38.??????? thanks, John

Even though you say the rod bearings were ok, you may have bent a #5 rod, which may account for the lower skirt problems and bad wear patterns. It does not take much to bend a rod, one washer or fuel-water-coolant hydrolock. Usually a bent rod will show one bad rod wear pattern.
