1941 Ford Engine and trans removal

Thanks Torchie! So sounds like the torque tube and universal joint will just slip apart by pulling the engine forward as long as I have the torque tube "bell housing" disconnected. Thanks for the info!

1941 Ford Engine and trans removal

Hi Everyone, It's my first time pulling the engine and transmission out of my 1941 Ford. The plan is to get it out for a major over haul this winter. I've started out under the car by disconnecting the transmission mounts and now I'm trying to figure out the torque tube. Is it required to...

41 Ford front car fender question.

That's a great question. My Grandpa tells me my 41 is an early model and origionally didnt have the stainless trim. He added the stainless trim later. I can try to take a look at my car. Can you give a more detailed description of what you are looking for?

Thanks! I picked up a BWD S334 on my lunch break today as well as a SunPro mechanical gauge. Hopefully I get the same results!

How to test oil pressure when stock gauge/sender doubtful

I have a mechanical oil gauge hooked up there right now. It has started to leak and I couldn't figure out what component originally went there.

    Oil pressure unit

41ford1 I think this PS60 would be great compared to paying $50 from MACs. Is this a true " sender" or is it just a dummy switch that reads "to low", "to high", and OK? Have you compared side by side with a mechanical gauge and got the same PSI readings at cold and hot? Thanks, Chris

How to test oil pressure when stock gauge/sender doubtful

Thanks Henry and Lawson that does answer my question! Looks like my engine is missing the oil filter, although it does not sound like a crucial loss. Something to keep an eye out for in the future. Thanks!

How to test oil pressure when stock gauge/sender doubtful

Sorry to dig up such an old thread! Henry can you tell me what the function is of the fitting and line that are hooked up NEXT TO the brass fitting that you installed above? On my '41 there is an oil pressure gauge that is hooked up to that line and I want to know what its real purpose is...

My new '41 Tudor Super Deluxe

He is 85. His health is not bad but has been declining over the years. He is back home now and is walking with a cane. Except for the cane he is completely back to his old self. We had a really great time the other day while he was showing me how to clean up some fouled out plugs.

My new '41 Tudor Super Deluxe

So I had my first break down on Sunday. I stalled going up a steep hill in 2nd trying to get into a gas station. I can't get down to first without stopping but i think that is normal. No syncro in first? So after I stalled I couldnt get the car started. Turns out I think I was vapor locked. I...
