hello not sure if my oil gauge is working correctly when ignition swich is on motor not running it goes to the high side when the motor is running its allways pegged out on the high side it just not seem very accurate normally a oil gauge will fluxuate a little thanks paul

yes will let you know might not be till next week I did check my gauge and sender seem to be working properly checked my wiring seems to be right a few years ago I went from 6 to 12 volt which I wouldn't go back might need a resister at that gauge any input also could someone tell me if I need one at the temp and fuel thanks paul

Thought so thanks Fibber Mcgee I will hook up a resister they still are operating hope I didn't damage them thanks paul

i think you need the resistor before the sender, so the sender gets 6V??...same with temperature senders?.....Mike

thanks mike understood I think I will reduce the volts at gauges and get 12 volt senders I want to get away from 6 volts thanks again paul

Not to get off topic but 6 volt can be very reliable. I have one vehicle that's been converted and one that's original and they both have their advantages.

Hi Fibber Mcgee yes to a degree they are reliable for years I ran this car on 6 volts but after converting to 12 theres a real difference the engine has better response with 12 going to the distributer 12 volt gen quicker charge and easy on the starter at times you have hard starting theres nothing better then a 12 volt battery
