Hello Folks,
Looking for some information on some markings I found on my lightened flywheel with a V8 clutch installed. I have a 1931 Model A Roadster. Its time to tear the engine down because of a health oil leak and slight knock that has developed. When I pulled the flywheel I noticed some...
Hello folks

I have a Mitchell 1000 overdrive in 31 Roadster and it is starting to develop an issue when shifting from neutral to high or low gear. It happens occasionally when stopped in neutral on both the regular transmission and the overdrive. I put the regular transition in first or reverse and the...
Ran across some extra parts and have a question about the rear motor mounts on a flywheel housing. The mounts have a oval recessed into the casting. (see attached picture)
Is this an original casting?
Any idea why it was done?
Does it require a special rubber mounting pad?
Its on both...
Hello folks hope all is well. I am debating taking my Model A from Chicago to Denver in August of 2025. I was wondering if anyone has done this trip and can share a route they enjoyed. Looking for back roads with limited truck traffic. I was thinking 200-250 miles per day.
Any suggestions on...
Hello Folks,
I am a long time Model T and Model A owner and new to the Ford Flathead world. I recently acquired a 1950 Flathead engine from a truck. I am looking for the service "bible" for the engine. Preferably similar to the Les Andrews Model A mechanics handbook...

The way to check the finger height dimensions is on a bench with the flywheel, clutch disk, and pressure plate all bolted down together as it would be on the engine. This is the only way to be able to take the measurement since access is easy
Thanks for the information that's how I have done...
Quick question on a V8 clutch installed on a stock 1931 Model A engine is the clutch finger adjustment 13/16?
Any suggestions on how to adjust this without pulling the engine?
See attached photo
Just bought a spare engine and it has an additional item on the passenger side. It looks like a second generator or maybe a clutch. Not sure what it is. It has a DELCO name plate on it which I thought is usually GM
Anyone know what this is used for?
Just got a 1931 roadster trying to figure out if there’s an aftermarket product that can brace the window open. I would like to be able to get some fresh air in the car with the window open a few inches, but it keeps being pushed down by the air as I drive. Any help or pictures would be...
