Bob, The closed cars have sliding brackets with notches to prop open the windshield. As you’ve found, the Roadster lacks these, and you can’t tighten the nuts enough to hold the windshield open, either. I’ve taken to putting a rolled up microfiber cloth under the corners to prop it open. If you look closely at the picture of my Wretched Roadster you can see the yellow cloth. I tried using just one cloth placed in the middle but got lots of vibration. You’ll also notice you’ll need to re-aim the inside rear view mirror as it is mounted on the windshield frame and pivots down as the windshield is pushed outwards. I modified the bracket to allow the windshield to be pushed out further while still using the mirror. This is only partly successful because when the windshield is open enough to let in a lot of air the frame jiggles so much the image in the mirror becomes too blurry to be useful. Instead I rely more on the outside rear view mirror.
I hope someone has figured out how to sculpt a piece of wood or something that can hold it open far enough to be useful and keep it from jiggling so much.
