I had the oil plug fixed by welding a repair kit on it. I have to replace the head gasket now because I did not have any water in it. I know I will receive a lot of flac for that but I cannot help what I did, I would like any advice on replacing the head gasket that anyone gives. I can tell that the engine just over heated because one of the wire harnes had melted to the block.
To my knowledge the car was not ran dry, my uncle and I got it to run by making a wire that allowed it to run and he said water was coming from exhaust. Then my great uncle who rebuilds model a's told me it was a head gasket problem.
Scored cylinder walls, rings with no tension, burnt valves, hotspots on the deck and that's only what to look for without tearing down. You could have melted babbitt or anything. Sounds like it got pretty hot. What should I check and how? What should I be looking for?
