Have a leak from the oil pump cover ('55 292ci) and upon removing the cover to see what gasket resided underneath found a thin round seal.
The seal barely rises above the valley into which it sits in the pump housing meaning it only just touches the cover.
Can't seem to find these being sold alone, just as part of a full engine kit. Seems silly to spend $100 for a single seal!
Has anyone any advice on whether I can supplement the seal with sealant OUTSIDE the seal?
