Wiring Harness Question

The 39 1 ton definitely needs rewiring. Seems to be a task I can handle as it looks to be fairly straight forward and pretty much plug and play so to speak. I've been building wooden duck boats and wiring them for 20 years...can't be too much different other than 6v vs 12...right? :D

I'm trying to determine the harnesses I need for a complete rewire. The biggest question I have is for the cowl harness. The options for the 39 at Carpenter are include the voltage regulator, which in searching the forums, it looks like that was mid year switch over. I believe my truck has the voltage regulator (again pardon my ignorance as automotive is all new to me). Attaching a pic. If that is the case then I'm assuming that would be the correct harness. However, CW Moss has harnesses for 1939 trucks that include 2 & 3 brush generators. Just want to make sure I am ordering the right harness.

Aside from the cowl harness, I'm assuming I would need the headlight harness, tailight, and tailight crossover. With this truck having the heater and turn signals, I'm assuming I would also need some spare by the foot cloth covered wire to tap in where needed. And of course plenty of female connectors. Am I missing anything? Spark plug wires look to be fairly new and not in need of replacement.

Thanks in advance. Everything aside from the horn (which works intermittently) is currently working but a lot of cracked and few bare wires here and there. If you know of something else I would need please feel free to share.

Brad

As I indicated in a post on one of your other threads there are several quality wire harness suppliers and I'm sure they can answer specific questions about their product for you. You indicate that you have turn signals and a heater which some suppliers can modify their harness to include them. I mentioned Y and Z because I've been to their facility and seen their work and they can modify the harness for your turn signals and heater or anything else you need. The owner comes to a Saturday morning cars and coffee meet I go to and he is a real car guy. Others may have different opinions this is JMO.

Thank you and appreciate the input. I had clicked on the link in the other thread but they didn't have anything listed for the 39. I realize they do custom but I was just trying to determine what I had/needed before I reached out. They definitely look like the way to go with the optional accessories.

Thanks again!

They don't stock harnesses. Everything is made to order. Best to reach out to whatever supplier you choose since many don't list everything they offer on their web site.

You have a voltage regulator, but it certainly does not appear to be "factory".
If you want to keep that in place along with the respective generator, order the harness for the regulator equipped vehicle.
Adding a regulator later in the vehicle's life was fairly common.
