Which Look Do You Prefer?

Hmmm... never been one to stick to the original color schemes. Straying a bit makes the car a little more "unique". I prefer the WWW, but the dealers are sure proud of 'em.

I prefer the black tires, and I also prefer the original size (19") as to the 16" - 18" wider tires I see a lot of. My 31PU is Stone Gray (almost black). I have black tires with straw wheels, and I think it looks great with that combination.

Your car has two "attitudes." Blackwalls look classy, whitewalls look younger. I like whitewalls but only with Tacoma Cream wheels. There is just too much contrast with the black wheels.

... Steve s --- I like your car but actually I think the blackwalls look better on it than the w/w. As they say just my opinion means nothing BUT it does look sharper with the blackwall tires, to me anyway.
...

THanks, Jeff. I think the WW jump out more in photos than they do in real life.

I'm tending to agree with others who feel too many colors is bad, unless it's a real sporty model. I don't think I would go with WW on a town sedan if it weren't all black.

Here's a picture of mine as I first got it in 1960. I think the WW sort of worked with the solid wheels, but when I needed new tires I was glad the seller had tossed the original wheels in the back seat.

Deluxe Roadsters, cabriolets, deluxe coupes, deluxe phaetons - white

sedans, all trucks, std. roadsters, std. coupes, std. phaetons - black

Don, My paint was Dupont, a standard color chart selection, the darkest maroon available when it was painted in 2001. I know that is not much help, but I just found a color I liked with out regard to being original. It is a basecoat/clearcoat, and looked beautiful for the 10 years I drove it. The last year I had it, I went to black tires and really liked the look. With the chrome w/s frame and stone guard, it looked live a baby Lincoln or Packard.

:DI have white walls one both my cars with cream and apple green rims, but my pick up will get black rims and black walls.

The car looks great with or without white walls, but if I was stuck with a choice I'd go white walls. When I first bought a 1929 phaeton back in
2003. The car had been restored in the early 70's and had "double" sided
Coker white walls. The white walls had turned yellow and the only way we could get them looking near white again. Was by wet sanding the walls with 400 & 600 grade paper. What a PIA that was...:(!

It's your call ! To the seasoned "antiquer", the black-walls look more authentic. To the person, on the street, watching the parade, the WWs really make the car "POP".
There is no right or wrong.
MIKE :)

Neither, Go with a set of red lines. They will set off the car's colors.

I would go with black due cleaning issues with the yellow wall, uh I mean white.
