What's your favorite thing about Model A's?

that they have been a part of my life since coming home from the hospital in the pictured '31 Roadster in October of 1936. Gar Williams

I just luv the smallness of the pickup truck and how it looks and just makes me smile every time I look at it.
Just has a beauty abut it .
And starting it and all the things you have to do to just get it to start.

Model A' have something few other other collector cars have! Its called CHARM. And to make that charm even better, it is widely available to many. In fact I'm charmed to work on them, ride in them or even watch one ride by.

Not to get too philosophical, but having a 29 Ford in this economic environment is a constant reminder to me that we've been through tough times before.

My favorite thing is the sound of that 4 Banger idling! Next...

And to take that even further, ...most Model A enthusiests do not actually know what an original Model A engine sounds like idling! That is because most Model A engines now have more compression than stock, a reground camshaft, and an exhaust system that does not have the same design as original. Now what I just said should not be misconstrued as suggesting someone shouldn't like the idle sound of a slightly altered combination but to imply that there can be several different sounds from different Model A engines.

Now to answer the original question of the title; --I guess the thing I like best about Model A's is that I get to make my living being around them. They say that your job is not work if you enjoy what you do. I am blessed (most days!!:D) that I don't have to go to "work" each day to make my living!!

.

If I'd have to say in one word, it wood be "Simplicity". But to chime right in with several others above, I'd have to say it would be the :pSmiles;) it puts on other's faces.

In these days of turmoil and dissent, those Smiles make the whole world seem better at least for a moment. That moment is when folks forget all other things that have gone bad or seem bad for a few seconds.

And Folks, it don't get any better than that...................:p;):):D

Yes no matter how bad the day I've had, I get in Tess and drive it around. The waves, smiles, honks and Thumbs up I receive is better than anything that could come from a bottle or pharmacist.
Yessir Mike, Especially if you can get that type of response in S. Fl.!! Here in upstate SC, i moved north to go south, from Pompano bch, i get looks like i'm in a spaceship. I used to get the same response in south Fl. when i'd drive my '60 Bentley, so i bought a chauffer's cap and that made for a better public response. But the idle with the timing retarded is my favorite sound, 2nd would be the Ahooga horn. I sure hope idling that way don't hurt my motor.

There's many positive aspects of Model A's, the drive, the repair & restoration, collecting parts, etc etc.

I like working on them so much, I not only work on mine, but other people's cars as well :)

The shear numbers that are still road worthy, along with the comaradre a person has, with the many people who enjoy the simplicity and the economics of restoring, and owning a Ford Model A. Great for a retirement project, or great for a young family for involvement.

Ditto what Al said. The looks on the faces. It's an instant parade every time you go out. The looks aren't always just smiles - you get jaw drops, blank surprise, poke the person next to them, and my favorite - how fast can they get the cell phone camera out. Unwritten rule: a thumbs-up gets an Ahooga.
