Re: What’s this hole for?

I believe that's for the throttle rod To quote Sgt. Schultz," I Know Nothing"

Re: What’s this hole for?

Nah it’s not the gas peddle or throttle linkage. I have my truck 99% assembled and I still have this big hole in the firewall all the other holes got something in them .
(Pic is not my truck it’s just a pic I found on google but my truck has the holes the same)

Re: What’s this hole for?

Dunno, on a 35-36 that hole is to accommodate the main wiring harness, temp gauge capillary and vacuum wiper tube

Re: What’s this hole for?

Dirty picture is my first pickup disassembly in '02 and it has the tstat passing through. Clean picture is my second pickup after restoration in '05, also with the tstat passthrough. Not definitive, but I would say the hole is for the thermostat.

Re: What’s this hole for?

By thermostat should we assume you mean the temp gauge capillary tube?

Thank you.
It’s obvious now that I know it’s the temp gauge. The capillary for my temp gauge is cut off at the gauge and there was a plug in the motor. I have setup electronic gauges. So I just need to plug that hole for now.
