Water pump replacement

Just giterdun! Me thinks you are over thinking the problem but its you car so do what you think is best AND I've been wrong before!

Thanks guys! I thought about a floor jack and may still purchase one but cash for the car is tight at the moment and space in the garage is too.

Finally got around to installing the pumps. All is well. I am also installing a radiator and have the mounting hardware but not quite sure how it works as the old mounts were a mixture of odd parts. For each side I have a rubber pad, a bolt, a nut, a cotter pin and two springs. No instructions. I assume: 1. the bolt comes up from the bottom; 2. the rubber pad goes on the top side; 3. a spring goes on top of the pad; the radiator flange then sits on the spring; 4. the other spring goes on top of the flange; 5. the nut goes on and is tightened; 6. the cotter pin goes in to keep the nut from backing off. This way the radiator is suspended between the two springs. Correct?

I have the two side brackets and they are easy enough.

Thanks!

I've been changing water pumps on Flatheads (when necessary) for a long time, and I've always used a bottle jack and a piece of wood, 2x4, etc. I've never used a "Floor Jack", to do that job, because they get in the way of the work. A bottle jack and wood, positioned the way you have it, will work just fine.;)
