Two Window Stops for a Cabriolet Door?

I've been looking over a set of straight window Cabriolet doors that I recently purchased. I noticed that in addition to the usual window stops at the top of each front door post, the window frames also have a short tab bent out at a right angle to the rear. Mounted in the wood window regulator/latch panel is a recess with a right angle piece of metal screwed to the panel. This tab is under the garnish molding and extends slightly into the window space. When the window is rolled up, these two tabs meet, preventing the window from going higher. Both the drivers side and passenger side window frames have this feature. Has anyone seen this extra window stop before on a Cabriolet window frame?

It is interesting that my other set of early 30 doors have the recess in the wood regulator panel for the metal right angle tab but has never had the metal tab mounted. My only surviving window frame does not have the formed tab either.

I do not recall anything like that on my 68A but I will look at the frames tomorrow. My doors have metal regulator/latch panels.

I understand originally the 68-A's and early 68-B's had wood panels for mounting the window regulators and latches. I would not expect to see a second window stop on metal panels but then again I didn't expect to find these.

Also worth noting is on these doors is the passenger door has a separate door lock. This was not a feature found on early 68-A's since these had a door lock in the handle. It is possible these window stops appeared on early 68-A's and this door was made during a transitional period when the door locks became separate. Just speculation at this point.

Trivia question for the Cabriolet experts: On top of the wood panel edge are four 3/4" wide cutouts. The last photo above has one of the four cutouts to the right of the window stop tab. What are the cutouts for?

I checked and note that my 68A window frames have the same tab as yours. My passenger door has a separate key hole. I recall that my cabriolet originally had one metal regulator/latch panel. About 15 years ago, after getting such a trash replacement piece years ago for the one wood panel, I started looking and found a second metal panel from a Briggs sedan at a swap meet. My original wood panel did not look very original, the "reproduction" replacement piece was such unusable trash, I probably tossed them both.
